  • ½ hour visit: $80
  • 1 hour visit: $150

4–visit package: $550 (includes four 1-hour visits)


  • First visit: Project layout, permit details, step-by-step instructions, and a customized list of tools and materials
  • Second and third visits: Progress checks, troubleshooting, and answers to your questions
  • Fourth visit: Pre-inspection checklist and final finishing instructions

Fine Print:

  • Basement package valid until project completion or permit expiration
  • We require a permit through the city to be obtained
  • Once a DIY package is purchased it is nonrefundable after the first visit
  • You must use your own tools for the project
  • Project quality is dependent on your skill level, we are not responsible for DIY installation outcomes
  • Our role is to provide advice, guidance, and teaching. Labor is the responsibility of the DIYer

  • Can I use Jensen Pro Construction's tools?

    No, you must use your own tools. However, we can recommend the right tools for your project.

  • What if I start my basement and realize it's more than I want to take on?

    No problem! We can take over where you left off. The $2,500 will be applied toward the cost of Jensen Pro Construction completing the rest of the basement for you.

  • What if there's a certain trade (drywall, paint, electrical, etc.) that I know I don't want to do?

    Jensen Pro Construction is happy to bid and complete any trade that you prefer not to handle yourself.

  • Do I get a refund on trades that I don't need consulting on?

    Regardless of how many trades are completed by the DIYer or the contractor, the $2,500 consulting cost remains the same.

  • What if my project takes longer than one year?

    Our consulting package is valid for one year. For projects extending beyond that, we can arrange continued consulting based on your timeline and project scope.
